Pull Up The Covers

Updated: Jul 14, 2019

As believers in Christ we can not neglect the fruits of the Spirit; especially the one called love.1 Corinthians 13 chapter suggest this; our whole Christian walk is founded on the premise of love and if we fail at love we have failed at it all and we have nothing . 1 Peter 4:8 (CEV) says; "Most important of all, you must sincerely love each other, because love wipes away many sins". I believe that there is a misconception as to what the exhaustive term "covers" means. I do believe that we protect our brothers and sisters and it is not meant for us to blast sins on the loud speakers. I do believe we are required out of love to hold each other accountable to holy and righteous living. I do not believe that it is the nature of Christ to harm others and expose sins unless it is leading one to repentance; or specifically if Holy Spirit is unctioning one to take that course of action with a brother or sister in Christ. If that is the case it will lead that brother of sister to repentance. Open rebuke is better than secret love (Proverbs 27:5). I believe we don't and should not find ourselves making excuses for sin; nor do we uphold wrong behaviors. As believers, we are each others help to be a perfected bride unto God. To allow anyone to stay in sin or continue in sin is not a picture of the love of God. Even Jesus rebuked the mindset, actions, and religious behaviors of the leadership of the church. We are commanded through scripture to love over and over again. The concept of biblical love I believe has been lost through time. As Humanity evolves there is a greater evil through deception in the world. This evil deception convinces believers that love has to always serve me. If any aspect of my life doesn't serve me then I immediately get rid of it. I immediately discard whatever doesn't "serve me", and as believers we are called to simply love as Christ loved. This concept diminishes the placement of biblical love. Loving as Christ loved will need to be done through Holy Spirit. We cant not love the way Christ loved void of Holy Spirit. Jesus while on the cross of calvary makes a profound statement. Jesus said, "Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing." And they divided up his clothes by casting lots (Luke 23:34 NIV). His love looked past their sins against Him. His loved reached past His shame, pain, and the embarrassment of the cross He was chosen to carry for them. Romans 12:9-10 (BSB) Love must be sincere. Detest what is evil; Cling to what is good. Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Outdo yourselves in honoring one another.… Our love must grow to the God kind of love which will cause us to serve one another through love even when there are faults present in our brothers, sisters, spouses, friends, co-workers, and anyone that may have faults of has offended us. There is a great spirit of offense that chokes out the true love of Christ. But I sense a revival of God's love coming to the earth. God is perfecting His bride through love and raising sons and daughters that house His love for mankind and they will pour out with purity from His heart articulating through His love' which will be imparted into His . We as believers are called to perfect our love walk with Christ and the body. One thing is for sure, your love isn't tested until you have a reason to hate and yet you choose love. Love is tested through relationships that are in close proximity such as but not limited to; mother, father, sister, brother, daughter and son. My brother and my sister always choose love, and choose to perfect and grow the Christ kind of love daily. If you need help simply ask the Father to help you to love as Christ loved that you may grow and be perfected and mature in and through love because while you were a sinner Jesus demonstrated His love towards you and died a horrible death.
