6 Action Steps To Move You Forward

We all experience times where we feel like we're stuck. You may even ask, "how did I get here, and how do I leave". Don't worry; I've been there too. Here are 6 steps that you can implement to help you regain movement and momentum in your life.

•Change Your Surroundings

Often we are stuck because of what we surround ourselves with. When we have partnerships, covenants, and relationships that hold us back it may be the very that needs to change in order to move ahead. There are countless scriptures that address the results of what happens when we have unequally yoked relationships. The truth is you need to walk with those who are like minded and desire to go in the direction that you are focused on.

•Change Your Thinking

Ive heard it said, "the mind is like a computer that needs regular updates. Our thinking is transformed as we update the information in our minds. Think about it. Our technology if not updated will become outdated and no longer serve to function On a higher level. When progress or change comes in your life you must first agree mentally accept the change and new information or you will resist it. Nothing changes if nothing changes.

•Change What You Say

There is so much power in words. Life and death are in the power of the tongue. Proverbs 18:21 puts it this way: “The tongue has the power of life and death.” The stakes are high. Your words can either speak life, or your words can speak death. Our tongues can build others up, or they can tear them down. As well as build our own lives. What you confess about yourself, can change the way you view yourself. Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. •Change What You Give Yourself To

Where we invest our time, talent, and treasure matters. We are all looking for the purpose in which we are called into the earth and when we find the place that God has called us to align with everything changes. You will see a return on your investment deposits. Your life will start to reflect your new alignments. When we are in positive relationships we experience benefits; health, long life, increased happiness, positive thoulights about self and others, and increased mental capacity.

• Change How You Pray

Many people say they pray. When you are desiring forward movement in your life the way you pray can be a game changer. Prayer is one of the single most impactful things we can do to move us forward. When we find ourselves in an unfavorable place; changing the way we pray to receive answers from God is vital.

When we change the way we pray there are some things we can implement: humility, repentance, confessions, and worship.

Asking the right questions in prayer is vital.

•Take A Moment To Grieve But Keep Moving Forward

When we are ready to move forward it is evident that we will leave some things and people behind. This should not be a negative experience but it can often be a sad experience. It is in our human nature to resist change and some people may find it hard to leave people and things behind. You may need to change jobs, move to a different state, a relationship, embrace a new ministry. What ever you are leaving behind you must commit into the hands of the Lord. When God is moving us forward we must learn to grieve but keep moving forward. In 1 Samuel 16; we get a peek into Gods instruction to prophet Samuel as he mourns over the relationship he had with King Saul. Samuel was the prophet assigned to serve and advise King Saul, when God rejected Samuel as King and choose a successor in young David. I'm sure Samuel must have had a hard time resolving the closure of his relationship with Saul to embrace a new king in young David. Why are you mourning over Saul? I have rejected him. Go anoint David as king.
